Participants are 100% advised to get an Oyster Card while in London. This can be bought at any Underground & Train station via the ticket machines. It will reduce the cost of your travel significantly by at least 60% sometimes.
When arriving in London, you will likely be at one of 3 airports: Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted.
To get to the Venue from Heathrow, you must take the Piccadilly Line Eastbound to Holborn and change to the Central Line. From there you can take the Central Line toward Epping to get to South Woodford. This will roughly take 1 hour and a half, so plan according.
To get to the Venue from Gatwick you first need to get to Victoria station. To get to Victoria, you can either take the Gatwick Express (faster but more expensive) or National Rail (which is recommended because it is much cheaper but will take longer). Once at Victoria, take the Victoria Line Northbound to Oxford Circus. Get off at Oxford Circus and take the Central Line Eastbound toward Epping and get off at South Woodford Station. This can take up to 2 hours so plan accordingly.
To get to the venue from Stansted, you can take the Stansted Express (more expensive) or the National Rail (Cheaper) to Liverpool Street (Do note that National Rail in general is more expensive then Underground or Bus). Once at Liverpool Street, you can change to the Underground and take the Central Line Eastbound toward Epping to get to South Woodford. Do note that you will not be able to use your Oyster Card from Stansted and will have to pay money for ticket.
An alternative cheaper option is to take a Bus (A7 Express Bus) to Mile End, then from Mile End you can take the Central Line on the Underground toward Epping to get to South Woodford. Do note that you likely will not be able to use Oyster Card for this and have to pay money for ticket.
